The Metro NY chapter of UN Women introduced their Champions of Change campaign at the chapter’s 30th-anniversary celebration in October 2017. They have now selected their 2018 Champions of Change – people who have made significant contributions to women’s empowerment and gender equality in their professional and personal lives.

These diverse champions, including GPS Managing Director Shazia Rafi, are deemed have made an impact on a wide range of issues including women’s economic and political empowerment, gender-based violence, peace and security, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.
